Chef's Table, recognized as an award-winning restaurant in Calgary, has just elevated its stature in the fine dining marketplace. It is with great pleasure that the Hotel Arts Group introduces Jeff Park as Executive Chef of Chef's Table at the Kensington Riverside Inn.
Jeff's story is one that took him from a teen emigrating from Korea to Canada, obtaining a degree from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in advertising design, to an opportunity to work as an art director in Los Angeles. After several years working with clients such as Chrysler, Bank of America, and MCI, Jeff's artistic talents became highly developed but not the dream that was his passion - cooking.
Jeff left Los Angeles and returned to British Columbia as his real dream beckoned. Dubrulle Culinary Institute became the first stop in the pursuit of his second career, the culinary arts. Jeff realized that he was now starting from square one. A family value of working hard and keeping a low profile served him well. His passion to cook saw him become involved in all that was offered. Upon graduation, he soon caught the eye of James Walt and Andrew Richardson in their restaurant, Araxi in Whistler. Realizing Jeff's talent and potential, both of these chefs became his mentors. After three years of rising quickly through the ranks, he soon became a Sous Chef at this world-class restaurant.
Vancouver's loss became Calgary's gain when Jeff moved to Calgary to reunite with Chef Andrew Richardson. He assisted with Blink restaurant's reopening and spent the next two years refining his knowledge of the culinary arts and a life beyond the kitchen. Jeff attributes much of his work ethic to the influence of Chef Richardson and states unabashedly, "He changed my life and he is my good friend."
Jeff brings much to Chef's Table. His cooking style is a simple blend of fine ingredients and artistic beauty. With the combination of sourcing both local and seasonal ingredients to help support the local economy, his menu mirrors the changing of the seasons. Jeff is a "hands-on" Chef and you will experience his influence in every dish at the Inn.
Come and visit Jeff and his kitchen team at Chef's Table in Kensington Riverside Inn and join them for a memorable dining experience.
